Job Description And Responsibilities

We are looking for a seasoned SAP SD/MM Consultant to support the local execution of a complex global SAP carve-out project. This program involves separating supply chain, sales, and distribution processes from a legacy SAP landscape while ensuring regulatory compliance. The role will be based on-site in Tokyo and requires bilingual communication skills to interface between local Japanese teams and global program stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze and implement separation of SD/MM processes from legacy SAP systems
  • Align sales, purchasing, inventory, and distribution flows with the new business entity
  • Localize SD and MM configurations for the Japan market (e.g., tax, invoice formats, delivery documents)
  • Coordinate with FICO, logistics, and manufacturing teams on end-to-end process integrity
  • Support master data migration, mapping, and validation activities
  • Collaborate on test scenarios, UAT, and go-live support in a GxP-compliant environment
  • Act as a bridge between Japanese stakeholders and global SAP project teams

Qualifications

Requirements

  • 7+ years of SAP SD and/or MM experience, preferably in carve-out or divestiture projects
  • In-depth knowledge of Japan localization requirements for sales, purchasing, and distribution
  • Experience working in regulated industries (pharma preferred), with GxP knowledge
  • Bilingual fluency in Japanese and English
  • Demonstrated ability to manage business and IT expectations across cultures
  • Familiarity with SAP data migration, interface design, and test management
  • Experience with global SAP templates and localization gaps
