Job Description And Responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced SAP MM/SD Consultant to support a life sciences transformation program with a strong focus on business process alignment and operational readiness. This role is designed for professionals who can bridge business teams and IT, with solid SAP MM and SD module capabilities.

  • Serve as the key point of contact between business users and SAP functional teams for Materials Management and Sales and Distribution stakeholders.
  • Facilitate business process mapping and ensure alignment with global standards and SAP MM/SD best local practices.
  • Conduct workshops and requirement-gathering sessions with stakeholders.
  • Translate business needs into clear functional specifications for implementation teams.
  • Support system testing, data validation, and cutover from a business operations perspective.
  • Provide input and support for training materials and change management initiatives.
  • Ensure SAP MM/SD processes support compliance and traceability within regulated environments, according to Japanese requirements for the pharma and life science industry.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of materials management with upstream and downstream processes.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of hands-on experience with SAP, including modules MM, SD, AR (Accounts Receivable), MDM in global or regional implementations, including at least 2 full-cycle implementations.
  • Strong understanding of materials management, inventory control, and logistics processes in business operations.
  • Strong configuration skills in SAP (e.g. module MM, including purchasing, inventory management, invoice verification, and material valuation; Familiarity with integration touchpoints with SAP SD, PP, WM, and FI)
  • Ability to communicate complex SAP concepts in simple business terms.
  • Understanding of compliance and validation considerations in GxP (“Good X Practice”) environments.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in Japanese (JLPT N2) and English.
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.
  • Willingness to travel
  • Experience working in regulated industries, preferably life sciences, pharmaceutics, chemicals, health, food or consulting industry
