Job Description And Responsibilities
We are seeking a Project Manager to join our team in Tokyo. The role will support the successful execution of SAP IT projects for a leading life sciences company with multiple stakeholders to manage and a focus on System, Data and Process Improvement (PI) initiatives.
- Assist in managing the full project lifecycle, including planning, execution, monitoring, and closing phases for assigned IT / SAP HANA projects.
- Work closely with stakeholders to define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and timelines, demonstrating advanced stakeholder management skills to balance diverse and sometimes conflicting expectations.
- Coordinate and communicate with cross-functional teams to ensure project milestones are met.
- Monitor project progress, identify risks, and propose solutions to ensure timely and quality delivery.
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, status reports, and risk logs.
- Support IT project governance by adhering to the organization’s project management standards and methodologies.
- Facilitate regular project meetings, prepare meeting agendas, and ensure timely follow-up on action items.
- Provide status updates to senior global program managers and stakeholders.

Qualifications
- Proven experience in Consulting/Change Management/IT SAP ERP implementation
- 6+ years of experience in project management, preferably within IT consulting or life sciences industries.
- Proven experience in a team leadership or managing consultant role
- Familiarity with project management methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid approaches.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in Japanese (JLPT N2) and English.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to adapt to a dynamic and fast-paced work environment.
- Willingness to travel as project demands require (approximately 1-2 times per month for 3-4 days).
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, JIRA, or equivalent).
- PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent certification is an advantage but not mandatory.
- Experience working in regulated industries, preferably life sciences, pharmaceutics, chemicals, health, food or consulting industry.
